World Mental Health Day - We Need to Talk

World Mental Health Day - We Need to Talk

It's World Mental Health Day and campaigns such as Time to Change are urging people to talk about mental health.

Do you know somebody who suffers from a mental health problem? Yes you do. One in four people are affected.

Why not take the time to ask your friends, colleagues and family how they are? Just knowing that somebody cares can make a huge difference to somebody who's suffering.

Here are some tips on supporting a friend with a mental health problem:

- regularly ask how he or she is doing

- offer support if they need it

- provide company during light activities such as gentle walks and sharing a cup of tea

If you want further information, here's a comprehensive page on talking to people with mental health problems: http://www.time-to-change.org.uk/talk-about-mental-health
