Praise for Rosen Trevithick

"Brilliant."
- The Independent
"I was reading this aloud to my 4 year old niece when waiting for hubby to finish with a doctor's appointment. She was totally enthralled! When we were ready to leave, the gentleman across from us had been listening and said, "Ah! Man! Do you have to go? I was really enjoying that!""
- DW
"Funny, scary, warm, witty, mysterious and on the edge of your seat stuff."
- T. Smith
"Laugh-out-loud funny, wonderfully observed, and intelligent."

Formatting Your POD Book - Some Tips

A number of indie authors are currently setting up print-on-demand (POD) titles. Here are a few tips from my own experiences. They relate to fiction writing.

  • The font face Georgia at size 11pt is clear and professional looking, for books aimed adults.
  • You won't need any additional line spacing unless you're writing for children.
  • Don't leave space between your paragraphs.
  • 8mm is a decent paragraph indent.
  • Do not indent the first paragraph in each chapter or the first paragraph after a starred break.
  • It it customary for chapters to start on a right hand page.
  • Downloading a template from your chosen POD service will save you a lot of time.
  • If you upload a PDF instead of a Word document, you will have much more control over the final layout.
  • FeedARead is the most professional POD site I've tried, but CreateSpace is cheaper. See discussion on POD services.
