Praise for Rosen Trevithick

"Brilliant."
- The Independent
"I absolutley loved Straight Out of University. It was laugh out loud funny through a lot of it. It drew me in rapidly and even had me on tenterhooks to see if characters Sophie and John would work out together."
- S. Hitchens
"Rosen has a flair for snappy dialogue, detailed description and fast plot movement. I'll definitely be reading more of her work."
- David Wailing (Author)
"This short story makes an excellent introduction to the novel 'Pompomberry House' but it's also very funny in its own right, particularly for anyone who has ever been on an internet forum!"
- Sheila Perry (Author)

Christmas Number 1 - The Candidates

My winter novella, The Ice Marathon is at number 9 in the UK Kindle freebie chart, making it a contender for Christmas number #1. But who else has a potential chart topper this season?

Here's a run down of the candidates, as I see them:

'The Ice Marathon' by Rosen Trevithick

(Me! Me! Me! Download now)

Strengths: 4.8 average, author has previously topped this chart.

Drawbacks: Only 33,000 words, only 8 reviews.

A Christmas psychological thriller centring around an unexpected pregnancy, a hot and cold romance, and a baby's disappearance.

'In a New York Minute' by Eleanor Moran

Strengths: currently at number 1, recent release.

Drawbacks: 3.5 star average (lower than other competitors).

A romantic novel set on a film set in New York. Was released in December this year.

'Replica' by Lexi Revellian

Strengths: Wildly popular author, 4.5 average from 99 reviews.

Drawbacks: Older title, not its first promotion.

A fast-paced thriller/romance novel. Beth Chandler, bright, attractive but unassertive, is accidentally replicated in a flawed experiment.

Only two days into its promotion and Replica is already in the top 100.

'The Survival of Thomas Ford' by John A. A. Logan

Strengths: Very popular title - 4.6 average from 43 reviews.

Drawbacks: Has been free for three days and still has 19 places to climb.

Thriller. Thomas Ford is the only survivor of the car crash which killed his wife.

This book has been teasing the top 20 over the last couple of days.

'Timeline' by David Wailing

Strengths: 4.7 average from 45 reviews, history of topping science fiction charts.

Drawbacks: Only went free today.

Moments before Joanna meets her 'ideal' man, her auto reports there is a 24% chance this man will kill her.

This is the favourite from David Wailing's popular auto series.

'Shadowmagic' by John Lenahan

Strengths: Currently at number 2, 4.3 average from 62 reviews.

Drawbacks: Children's eBooks are harder to sell than adults', this is an older title.

Conor thought he was an average teenager until two Celtic warriors on horseback and wearing full armour appear at his front door and try to kill him.

'Lovehoney Erotic Fiction: Take Your Partner and Other Tales of Seduction' by various authors

Strengths: There's never been a better year to sell erotica.

Drawbacks: No reviews yet.

Lovehoney recently released some erotic short story compilations, two of which appear to be soaring up the charts.

'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens

Strengths: It's Dickens.

Drawbacks: It's difficult for him to self-promote!

Ebenezer Scrooge is a mean-spirited grouch but visits from four spirits change his life.

This year marks the bicentenary of Dickens' birth and it's Christmas. When has there been a better time to buy 'A Christmas Carol'?

So, all in all, some pretty tough competition for me. What do you think? Which of these titles would you put money on? Which other books have number 1 potential this Christmas?
