Interview with Paul Fenton

Interview with Paul Fenton

I'm exited to announce that I've had the opportunity to interview Paul Fenton, author of indie book, Punchline, a dark comic mystery.

Here's a brief synopsis, to wet your appetite, before the hardcore question and answer session.

They say everyone has a novel in them. Luca Pope had five, until they were stolen from him.

Luca Pope would normally be pleased to see his novels on bookstore shelves, especially if it were his name on the covers. Five novels bearing five different author names, and he has no idea how it happened.

He sets out to track down and corner the plagiarists, to extract answers and confessions - if they'd just stay alive long enough to oblige. Urged on by a sense of righteous outrage and an inner voice named Hodges, Luca departs his career of salaried apathy to pursue the life which has been brazenly stolen from him: successful novelist... or failing that, serial killer.

Tell me a bit about Punchline?

Punchline is a dark comic mystery about a failed writer whose books go on to publication without him.

It sounds a bit creepy. Did you have to sleep with the lights on during the time that you were writing it?

Wow, if it seems that scary, I should probably seek help. I wasn't troubled by it, not even a little bit.

Is Luca Pope a typical hero?

No, not at all. Very much an antihero. He's not the kind of person anyone would aspire to become.

Do you eat or drink when you're writing, and if so, what?

Depending on the time of the day, I'll drink coffee or wine. I usually wait until at least 9am before opening the wine. I lack the coordination required to write and eat.

When will your other novels become available to buy

I've got one which will hopefully be available in a month or so, Cellar Door.

See Punchline on Amazon.
